Chattanooga Choo-Choo

The next stop on our trip was to Marmie and Poppy's house. We got to have family dinner with my side of the family on Sunday evening. We also got to spend time with Oma, my Gran. We had fun just hanging out with my family. On Tuesday, my parents and Mike and I took the boys to the Choo-Choo. Will was in heaven! He LOVES trains and to get to see real trains was so cool to him. We also went into the model train museum. Will was fascinated and we stayed there for at least an hour.

While we were there we also got some pre-Halloween pictures. Will is going to be a UGA football player and Luke is going to be a football.

We had so much fun hanging out with family and look forward to our next trip home!

Pumpkin trip 2010

Last week we had the chance to go home and see our families. We had so much fun! Our first stop was to see Mimi and Poppy in Atlanta. While we were there we went to Elijay, GA for the annual Fessler family pumpkin trip. It was a beautiful day, sunny and 80. We went to Amicalola Falls for a picnic lunch, hiked over to see the falls and just enjoyed being outside.

After lunch and the hike we went to Burt's Farm to pick out some pumpkins. I love going here! It has such a great fall atmosphere! It smells like fall, with all the pies and bread they have for sale. And it looks like fall with the thousands of pumpkins and gourds they have to choose from. Will had fun this year running through all the pumpkins. He got to pick a pumpkin for himself and then even picked one out for Luke.

After we got our pumpkins, we went to Reese Apple House for fried apple pies and apple cider. We finished our day with a visit to a corn maze and our annual dinner at Cracker Barrel. We had a great time as always, but the best part was spending time with family.

Happy Babies

This little guy smiles all the time!

I don't want to jinx ourselves, but we have two little boys who have started to figure out how to sleep at our house.
Will has never been a sleeper. He was the kid that would scream for 3 hours in his crib without falling alseep. We rocked him for hours on end to try and get him to sleep. Sometimes it worked, but sometimes it wouldn't, so we. would give up and let him sleep with us so we could get some sleep.
And then we had the period where Will would get up in the middle of the night and come to our bed. It was almost like he felt more comfortable in between both of us. But now we seem to have turned a corner, and Will is letting us put him down in his bed and leave while he falls asleep by himself. And he is staying in his bed until morning!
Luke on the other hand, has had a handle on sleeping since he was born. He is already sleeping in his crib, and has been since he was a month and a half old. He will go between 4 and 5 hours every night before waking up. It's funny how different two kids can be.
But we can tell that more sleep is making happier babies, which in turn is making happier parents.

Beach day!

Luke enjoying the beach!

Friday we went to the beach for the first time in 3 months, which was special because it was Luke's first time. It was cloudy and had just stormed before we got there. That made it nice and cool and allowed us to have the beach to ourselves. Will had a blast running up and down the beach and playing in the tide pools. Mike and I got a workout between playing with Will and pushing Luke in the stroller. And Luke, well, I guess he enjoyed it. He slept right through it! It was fun, and as I told Mike later, a perfect family day!

Will after we told him that we were going to the beach. He had reserved excitement!

Luke at 2 months

Another month has gone by. Our little "Gukie" is growing so fast. It honestly seems like he is doing things faster than Will at this point. But, it could just be that I can't focus on just Luke. He gets most of my attention everyday, but a large part is still devoted to Will.

Luke is getting bigger everyday. We skipped over size 1 diapers and went straight to 2's. He is now in some 3 month clothes, but most everything is 3-6 months. We found out at the doctor that he weighs 14.5 pounds and is 24 inches long. He is one chunky little boy!Someone the other day asked me if he was 5 months old. Honestly! He isn't that big!
He does, though, have the most precious coo. He is starting to talk to us and it melts our hearts. Oh, and his eyes. They are the prettiest shade of blue. I think he is going to be a looker. Dark hair and blue eyes are very striking, maybe that was why I fell for Mike!:)

Will is adjusting and is learning that mommy has to spend time doing things for Luke. He has started to help me out by bringing me things that Luke might need. He always brings me a burp cloth or a paci and is good at bringing Luke's diapers and wipes to me. Oh, he is so sweet.

Will is learning a ton of things everyday. Right now, he is learning to count to 10 and sing "Old MacDonald" and the "Itsy Bitsy Spider". He also knows part of the "Baby song" by Justin Beiber thanks to his good friend Jack!
He is also learning to catch a football. He is pretty good at it! But, when he doesn't catch it he will say "Cmon Will, catch the ball!" We crack up at that. And with it being football season he knows all about his Georgia Bulldogs. When he sees the Georgia "G" he knows to say "Georgia, Go dawgs!"

Aunt Linny

Three sweet cousins!

Last weekend, my sister Lindsay and her husband Seth came to town to visit. They brought our cute nephew Tate. They came to meet Luke and see our new house, life, and of course, eat some seafood!. We had a lot of fun and it made me wish that we lived closer to each other. When we were younger we always said that we would live side by side. I would raise both of our kids and she would make sure they were dressed cute and take them to do fun things that only aunts can do.

It is funny thinking about that, especially as I watched my sister with Tate this weekend. She is an amazing mom! It was touching to watch her love on him by the way she played with him and talked to him. She dotes on him and gives him everything she has. And the way they looked at each other...you can tell he is as smitten with his mama as she is with him. She has changed a lot since becoming a mom and i think motherhood becomes her.

Linny, I am so proud of you! Thanks for coming and giving me the chance to watch you love on my nephew!

Will's Pool Party

So...a couple of weeks ago we had a birthday party for Will in the backyard. We had everything, or so we thought. I forgot to bring out the camera. Mike and I were so busy making sure everyone had what they needed that we didn't even think to take pictures. Luckily, our dear friend, neighbor and aspiring photographer, Stephen came with his camera. Thanks to him, we have some cool pictures from the big bash. Thanks Stephen!!

Warning...there are a lot of pics. :)
