Summer Rewind- Will's Special Day

As of a week ago, we have a 5 year old in our house. Its a big deal. According to Will there are so many things that he can do now that he is 5. Everyday I hear something like this, "Well, now that I'm 5 mom I can play outside by myself" or "Since I'm 5 now I can almost tie my shoes without you." Its cute and I'm proud of him, because he is gaining that independence that he wants. But, I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me sad.

Anyways, the 5 year old's special day was last Saturday, August 24. His choice had been made for quite awhile. We were going to Chuck E Cheese to play games and he wanted dinner at Cracker Barrel. Here are some pictures from our fun night:

Summer Rewind- Luke's Special Day

Just like that, its August. I'm not sure how the summer has gotten away from me, maybe its that I'm low on sleep or just busy, but regardless its almost over. School starts back in a few weeks, so I thought it would be fun to catch up on our summer fun. First up....Luke's 3rd birthday.

I've said it before, but birthdays are a big deal in our house. Mike and I have made it a point to do something special for the boys for each birthday. We call it their special day. They get to pick a fun activity to do as a family and a place for us to eat dinner. This year Luke decided to go to the water park and Chick-fil-a.

We started our day off with birthday pancakes, then made birthday cupcakes and waited for Mike so we could go have fun. He was able to take a half day. Once he got home we took off for some fun. The boys had a blast with all the water slides and water toys. We were there for 3 hours and we literally had to drag them out of the park to go eat dinner. After a fun dinner, we came home to sing to our sweet little 3 year old and share some birthday cake.

Will going down the slide first. Luke wanted to  see Will go before he was brave enough to try!
